AN ACT TO AMEND § 6217 OF 4 GCA FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENSURING THAT PUBLIC EMPLOYEES THAT WORK AT NIGHT RECEIVE NIGHT DIFFERENTIAL PAY.

Q: What is Bill 236 Night Differential Pay?
A: This bill will ensure public employees who work Night shifts receive Night Differential Pay with no minimum hour requirement.
Q: What do public employees currently receive?
A: Public employees only receive the Night Differential Pay if they work a minimum of 4 hours between the hours of 6pm to 6am. With this bill, they will receive the Night Differential Pay regardless of the minimum number of hours and it will be between 6pm to 7am instead.
Q: Why do public workers need this?
A: Working night shifts can be difficult especially when trying to raise a family whose daily schedule is the opposite time. Public workers should be compensated for the uncommon working hours.
